Abstract

Objectives: To describe the knowledge about asthma of the mother and explore factors related to knowledge of asthma.

Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted from March to August 2018 in 67 mother of children with asthma. The subjects interviewed directly base on the questionnaire.

Results: The result showed that the average score of knowledge was 15,5, it was 50% total score. The was relationship between knowledge of asthma and management of asthma under the supervision of a physician (p <0.05).

Conclusion: This study showed generally inadequate asthma knowledge in parents and more effort should be made to disseminate asthma knowledge to parents. Asthma education must be emphasized as part of asthma management by GINA 2017.
