Abstract

Patient temperature monitoring is an indispensable routine in hospitals, which is a nurse’s daily work. Finding new ways to monitor patient temperature more conveniently will help improve monitoring and treatment effectiveness. The study was conducted on 250 patients treated in the Department of Rheumatology and Endocrinology, Military Hospital 103 by measuring the temperature with two types of thermometers: a mercury thermometer and infrared thermometer for comparison. Infrared thermometer has the advantage of fast measurement. The body temperature measurement of the infrared thermometer is relatively accurate, when measured in the forehead, the infrared thermometer indicated the equivalent indices of the armpit temperature measured with a mercury thermometer, mean error was 0.03°C; Se = 90.63%; Sp = 96.87%.
