Abstract
Objective: To describe the knowledge about nutrition care among nurses at National Lung hospital.
Method: The cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out with the participation of 213nurses working in 13 clinical departments at the National Lung Hospital. The subjects were interviewed directly with a set of structured questionnaire. The time of data collection is from March to the end of May, 2019.
Results: The rate of nurses who have knowledge about nutrition care tasks for patients accounted for the highest proportion of 72.8%, followed by knowledge about nutrition and malnutrition that was 69.5%, the knowledge about the diet normally used in hospitals was 60.1%; the knowledge about assessing nutritional status was 58.2%, the lowest was knowledge about nutritional support for patients 51.2%.
Conclusion: The knowledge of nutrition care for patients of nursing in National Lung Hospital was 57,3%.
