Abstract

Objective: To describe knowledge and practice of nurses about safe injection at Vu Thu District General Hospital in 2019.

Method: Cross-sectional descriptive studies conducted from June 2019 to 12/2019 on all nurses working in clinical departments at Vu Thu District General Hospital with a set of questions prepared in advance and observing practical skills with checklists about safety injection related content.

Results: The rate of nurses with knowledge of safe injection was 96.0%, the rate of practice nurses achieving all 4 injection techniques was 21.4%, the rate of practicing nurses achieved Intramuscular injection, subcutaneous injection, intravenous injection and intradermal injection respectively 61.4%; 60%; 52.9%; 51.4%.

Conclusion: Nurses'knowledge about injections is good and nurses' practice about injections is not good.
