Abstract

Objective: To assess the job satisfaction of 211 nurses working in 4 district hospitals in Thai Binh province, 2019.

Method: The cross-sectional study was conducted among 211 nurses in October 2019 according to the method described through the surveydirect interview by a prepared questionnaire.

Results: The majority of nurses thought that daily work as busy, staff on duty 4 times/month, and overload shift work as 82%, 72.3% and 50.7% respectively. Nurses suffer from non-cooperating patients and have patient complaints and shouting from patients in the patient care process was 71.7% and 31.8%, respectively. 70.1% of nurses assessed the working environment, facilities, and good personal protective equipment. The coordination with good colleagues with good level and very good level was 76.3% and 21.8%, respectively. The attention of the leaders to the continuous training, improve skills and professional qualifications for employees was 86.7% and timely reward was 99.1%, 87.7% of nurses were satisfied with the hospital’s allowance and benefits.

Conclusion: Basically, nurses are satisfied with their jobs except for the trouble in the patient’s lack of cooperation and the shouting of the patient’s family members.
