Abstract
Objective: To assess the knowledge and attitudes of operating room nurses at Nhan Dan Gia Dinh Hospital regarding the surgical safety checklist and related factors.
Subjects and methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted with the participation of 69 operating room nurses at Nhan Dan Gia Dinh Hospital from June 01, 2022, to July 30, 2022. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire.
Results: 68.1% of nurses had good knowledge and 31.9% had knowledge about the surgical safety checklist. 95.7% of nurses had a positive attitude and 4.3% had a non-positive attitude towards the surgical safety checklist.
Conclusion: There is still a proportion of nurses with a non-positive attitude towards the surgical safety checklist, and continuous training programs on surgical safety should be organized.
