Abstract
Objective: To determine the level of stress, anxiety, depression and to explore associated factors among 4th year nursing students at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine.
Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 113 4th year nursing students at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine. The Depression Anxiety Stress Scale - 21 (DASS - 21) was used to measure the levels of stress, anxiety and depression.
Results: Level of stress, anxiety and depression of 4th nursing student were 38,1%, 49,6% and 25,7%, respectively. In which, the rate of stress levels from mild to very severe level from 1,8%, to 15,9%, the rate of anxiety level from mild to very severe level from 4,4% to 12,4% and the rate of depression from mild to very severe level from 1,8% to 10,6%. There was a positive relationship between stress, anxiety and depression. Majors, academic performance, and physical activity were found to be associated with the levels of stress, anxiety, and depression among nursing students.
Conclusion: Level of stress, anxiety and depression were from 25,7% to 49,6%. Therefore, nursing administrations and educators need to consider the affected factors for appropriate interventions.
