Abstract
Objective: To describe nursing students’ perceptions of artificial intelligence (AI) application in clinical practice and associated factors at Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2026.
Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted among 225 nursing students at Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Perceptions of AI application in clinical practice were assessed using a 12-item scale developed by Labrague et al. [4]. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA. Statistical significance was set at p < 0.05.
Results: A total of 30.7% of students had a high level of perception of AI application in clinical practice, with a mean perception score of 3.33 ± 0.55. Perception was significantly associated with gender, information technology skills, knowledge of AI in healthcare, frequency of AI use, readiness to use AI for nursing work, and readiness to learn AI-related skills (p < 0.05).
Conclusion: Nursing students’ perceptions of AI application in clinical practice were predominantly at a moderate level. Strengthening systematic AI education and providing opportunities for guided AI use may support the development of students’ AI-related competencies in nursing practice.
