Abstract
Objective: The study was conducted to describe the current situation of safe procedures about pregnancy surgery of medical staffs at Quynh Phu General Hospital in 2019.
Method: Cross-sectional descriptive study with sample size 126 surgeries during the study period from April to June 2019 at the Department of Surgery, Quynh Phu General Hospital.
Results: In the preoperative work implementation, most of the operations were well followed by the health worker, the worst compliance action was to check the preoperative preparation form with the non-compliance rate of 17.5%. For the implementation of surgical safety insurgery,the compliance rate of health workers is quite good. The operations of confirming surgical members, surgical methods, surgical positions, confirming sterile instruments and wearing a newborn identification ring are performed 100%. However, there are stillPTVs who do not comply with the procedure of confirming the names of pregnant women (identity, identifying pregnant women), accounting for 4.8%. For compliance with operations before leaving the operating room, all operations are fully performed by the health-care worker.
Conclusion: The results show that the rate of process observation was 66.7%; The rate of process observation of the main surgeons was 94.4%, the anesthetist was 92.85% and nurses was 79.4%; The rate of process observation for step 1 before surgery was 71.5%, The rate of process observation with step 2 in surgery was 95.2% and step 3 after surgery was 100%.
