Abstract
Objective: To measure the level of stress among pregnant woman at Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Hai Chau district hospital, Danang city and examining the associated factors.
Method: Across-sectional study survey was distributed to 82 pregnant woman who came to Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology for prenatal care check-up from March to May, 2021. Pregnancy Stress Rating Scale (0.89) were used to measure study outcomes. The higher mean scores indicate the higher of pregnancy stress.
Results: The mean stress score was 1,41 (SD = 0,54) indicated a moderate level of stress among pregnant woman. Stress caused by worrying about mother and child’s health safety was being the most effected factor (X= 1,85, SD = 0,72). The birth order and place of abode were associated factors of pregnancy stress (p<0,01).
Conclusion: The study’s results reveal the importance of reducing stress level and improving spiritual health for pregnant woman. It needs to be focus on providing knowledge, consulting about maternal safety during prenatal term and also labor period, especially for the first-time pregnant woman.
