Abstract

Objectives: Describing the knowledge, practice of mothers whose under 5 years old children are suffering from acute diarrhea at Hai Phong Children’s Hospital.

Subjects and methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study was used with convenient sample of 422 mothers whose under 5 years old children suffering acute diarrhea from were being treated at Hai Phong Children’s Hospital from March 2017 to May 2017.

Results: The number of mothers who had the good general knowledge of acute diarrhea was 31,3 %, there were 70,9% mothers correctly practiced haking care of children with diarrhea.

Conclusion: Most mothers practiced correctly caring of acute diarrhea but did not have good general knowledge of the disease.
