Abstract
Objective: To determine the current state of knowledge about the prevention of recurrent stones in patients after kidney stone surgery at the Department of Surgery and Urology of Nam Dinh General Hospital. Objects and research.
Method: Research on cross-sectional descriptive studies on 102 patients with kidney stone surgery at the Department of Surgery and Urology of Nam Dinh General Hospital.
Results: Average score of knowledge on diet and drinking to prevent recurrence of kidney stones was 2.47 ± 1.38. Average score of knowledge about hygiene regime and physical training, preventive medicine, labor and re-examination 3.09 ± 1.15. Average score of knowledge about relapse prevention of stones in patients is 8.54 ± 3.15 (out of 20 points).
Conclusion: Through research results, the patient’s knowledge of prevention is still limited. So we need to increase knowledge about relapse prevention for patients.
