Abstract
Objectives: To describe the current state of knowledge and to explore associated factors to nurses’ knowledge in preventing and managing anaphylaxis at Military Hospital 103 in 2025.
Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 200 nurses from April 2025 to June 2025, using a questionnaire developed based on Circular No. 51/2017/TT-BYT issued by the Ministry of Health. Data were entered, coded, and analyzed using SPSS version 22.0, with frequencies and percentages calculated, and the associations between variables tested by the chi-square test (p < 0.05).
Results: The proportion of nurses with basic knowledge about anaphylaxis was 63%, knowledge of anaphylaxis prevention reached 69%, and knowledge of management and monitoring of anaphylaxis was 64%. The study also revealed a significant association between gender and knowledge of anaphylaxis management, professional qualification and both basic knowledge and preventive knowledge of anaphylaxis, as well as between the experience of having witnessed an anaphylactic reaction and knowledge of its management and monitoring (p < 0.05).
Conclusion: The findings indicate that nurses need to enhance their professional qualifications to be more confident in making decisions when caring for patients. It is necessary to organize regular training courses and knowledge updates, and to integrate simulated anaphylaxis scenarios to help nurses practice quick and accurate response skills.
