Abstract
Objective: Exploring the information searching needs of stroke patients’ caregivers at the neurology department in Nam Dinh general hospital in 2017.
Method: The cross-sectional study was conducted from February 2017 to July 2017 on 96 caregivers of stroke patients at the Neurology Department of Nam Dinh General Hospital.
Results: The proportion of caregivers who actively seek stroke information accounted for 87,5%.. supplied information via media accounted for the highest propotion with 55,2%, the lowest rate was the source of information from internet accounting for 21,8%. the content of knowledge that was expected to be conveyed is advocacy rehabilitation for stroke patients accounted for 63,5%, nutrition knowledge and causes, stroke prevention methods accounted for high rates respectively 45,8% and 60,4%, There was 12,5% of caregivers who have never actively sought stroke information.
Conclusion: 97,9% of the respondents desire to be provided with stroke information.
