Abstract
Objective: To determine the current status of adherence to ARV treatment among HIV / AIDS patients and to find out some factors affecting adherence to ARV treatment.
Methods: Cross sectional design was conducted from 4/2016 to 10/2016 in 256 patients. Use the patient resuscitation method and directly interview the patient using the QOL / Adherence Forms CASE questionnaire to collect data.
Results: Of the 256 participants, 47.7% were female, 52.3% were male, 57.8% were in the suburbs. Overall, participants included 79.7% of adherents and 20.3% of adherents. Factors such as knowledge of compliance, the level of trust in the health worker, the use of alcohol, drugs, the use of remedies, and support have significant effects on compliance. Conclusions: It is necessary to increase the patient’s knowledge about adherence to treatment, health workers need to create trust with patients, need support from family members in caring for patients.
