Abstract
Objective: Describe knowledge about preventive measures and practices management related to anaphylaxis of K10 bachelor students in Nam Dinh university of nursing. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 110 fourth year bachelor students using self-filled questionnaire administered at interview about knowledge about preventive measures and practices management related to anaphylaxis.
Results: more than 90% students had knowledge of definitions, causes and symptoms of anaphylaxis; collection allergic history and allergy testing; the equipment required for acute management of anaphylaxis; the principle of severe and critical anaphylaxis; Adrenaline administration. However, just 65% of students know the degrees of anaphylaxis; how allergy testing is performed; management milder anaphylaxis; the use of intravenous adrenaline.
Conclusion: Students’ knowledge about preventive measures and practices management of anaphylaxis is quite good. However, there are the gap of knowledge special in newly updated contents according to circular 51/2017 TT-BYT. This study suggests the need for increasing simulation teaching methods as well as updating of new knowledge related to anaphylaxis for students in the academic and clinical learning process, improving self-study ability and study of learners.
