Abstract

Objective: Survey of nursing knowledge about some occupational hazardous factors at Phu Yen General Hospital in 2020.

Method: Cross-sectional design described on 283 hospital nurses. The research toolkit is based on guidelines on occupational health in the health sector. Use the expert method to evaluate the validity and the test and retest methods to evaluate the reliability of the scale. Nurses are provided with a card to fill out information related to the content of the study.

Results: Nursing knowledge about occupational harm factors is low, only 74,9%, mainly at average, accounting for 68.5% and good at only 6.4%, of which 66,4% are nursing have knowledge of chemical factors and 69,6% of nurses have knowledge of biological factors.

Conclusion: In general, nursing knowledge about occupational harm factors is still very low, with knowledge reaching 74,9% or higher, of which nursing knowledge is only 68,5% and good at 6.4%. It poses a challenge for hospital managers who need to plan to fill those knowledge gaps for nursing subjects to ensure safety while working.
