Abstract
Objective: To describe the dietary regime adherence of kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis at Nam Dinh Police General Hospital in 2018.
Methods: A cross-sectional description was conducted on 210 kidney failure patients undergoing regular routine hemodialysis. They were interviewed for dietary adherence in the past 7 days at the Nam Dinh Police General Hospital from January to May 2018. The renal adherence behavior questionaire (RABQ) was used to collect dietary adherence.
Results: For dietary adherence: inadequate level at 1%; moderate level at 84.3%; fully level at 14.7%. Adherence to fluid restrictions 3,28 ± 0,43 (1 - 5); Adherence to potassium/ phosphate medication 3,36 ± 0,59 (1 – 5); Self care 3,77 ± 0,61 (1 – 5); Adherence in times of particular dificulty 3,26 ± 0,50 (1 - 5); Adherence to sodium restrictions 1,01 ± 0,24 (1 – 5).
Conclusion: Most patients do not adherence adequate.
