Abstract

Objective: to describe the current state of students’ views at Nam Dinh University of Nursing about clinical practice environment at hospital in 2024.

Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 396 third- and fourth-year nursing students, utilizing the Vietnamese version of the CLES+T tool. Data were collected through self-administered questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS software with appropriate statistical tests.

Results: Most students expressed high satisfaction with the clinical practice environment (93,7%). The mean score of students’ satisfaction was 4.45 ± 0.52. Nursing care activities had the highest satisfaction score (4.53 ± 0.51), reflecting the students’ positive evaluation of the quality of practice support. Other factors, such as relationships with supervisors and the role of clinical instructors, also scored high (4.46 ± 0.54 and 4.46 ± 0.55, respectively). Student satisfaction was associated with personal factors such as age, academic year, residence, and the number of clinical departments they had practiced in.

Conclusions: The findings indicate that the current clinical practice environment effectively meets the learning needs of students. However, continued maintenance and development are required to better align with the educational needs of nursing students through activities such as assigning experienced mentors and enhancing personalized guidance for students.
