Abstract
Objective: To assess changes in the attitude about acute respiratory illness, care and prevention acute respiratory infection for mothers who have children under 5 years old at Nam Dinh Children’s Hospital after health educational intervention.
Method: The one-group pre-test and post-test interventional design was conducted on 83 mothers of children under 5 years of age treated at Nam Dinh Children’s Hospital from November 2016 to September 2017.
Results: The rate of correct mothers’ attitude about acute respiratory infection was low. Correct attitude was 53% of mothers. After the intervention, maternal attitude were improved significantly. Correct attitude increases from 53% to 91,6%. The difference was statistically significant with p <0.05.
Conclusion: Mothers’ attitude about acute respiratory infection was limited before the education and there was a positive change after the education.
