Abstract
Objective: To assess the Self-manangement of bloodglucose level andto identify related factors among out-patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 in Thai Nguyen Hospital A in 2020.
Method: A cross-sectional study design was conducted, a self-completed questionnaire was used for data collection of 150 out-patients with type 2diabetes.
Results: The mean score of bloodglucose self-management among patients with diabetes mellitus type 2was 2.83 ± 0.45 points equal to moderate level. Adherence to recommended regimen had the highest mean score (3.55 ± 0.68) compared to other dimensions, followed by interaction with health care professionals and significant othersdimension (2.79 ±0.67),Self-integration dimension (2.75 ±0.66), Self-monitoring dimension (2.57 ±0.6) and the lowest dimension was Self-regulation dimension (2.49 ± 0.72). Gender (p<0.001), time duration of type 2 diabetes (r = 0.62; p < 0.001), social surport (r = 0.22; p = 0.007) was significantly correlated with the blood glucose Self-management.
Conclusion: Self-management of blood glucose among patients with diabetes mellitus type 2was moderate level. Blood glucose self-management among patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 was correlated with gender, duration of diabetes and social support.
