Abstract

Objectives: The study was conducted to describe the condition of stress, anxiety and depression among nursing students at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy and identify related factors.

Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was used. Sample included 828 nursing students at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Data were collected from January to April, 2022. Research instruments included a demographic questionnaire, and the stress, anxiety, depression questionnaire, DASS 21 by Lovibond Vietnamese version. Data were analysis by using the spss 20 program.

Results: The percentage of nursing students, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy suffering from stress, anxiety, and depression signs was 16.2%, 14.6%, and 3% respectively. Factors affecting students’ stress, anxiety and depression signs: religion, family’s marital status, family income, relationships with family members, student’s residence students, students with mobile phones, internet usage, smoking status, smoking status, alcohol use status, students’ love status, students’ self-confidence.

Conclusions: There should be extra-curricular programs, mental health support programs for nursing students.
