Abstract

Objectives: To analyze factors associated with knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) regarding the prevention and early detection of breast cancer among women in Nam Dinh province.

Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 600 women aged 18 and older in three distinct areas (urban, coastal, and rural/industrial) of Nam Dinh province from March to April 2025. Data were collected via structured questionnaires and analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis H tests, post-hoc analysis, and Spearman correlation.

Results: Factors including educational level, occupation, information sources, and residential address were significantly associated with KAP (p < 0.001). Specifically, women in rural areas exhibited the lowest KAP scores.

Conclusions: Breast cancer KAP among women in Nam Dinh is strongly influenced by demographic and socio-economic factors. It is essential to diversify communication channels and implement community-based health education programs using a “hands-on” approach to improve actual preventive practices.
