Abstract
Objective: To describe the knowledge of kidney stone diet and to examine related factors among patients with urinary system stones treated at Nam Dinh General Hospital in 2018.
Method: The descriptive cross-sectional design.
Results: The knowledge about diets with 30,4% of patients recognized that they had to eat limitedly high-protein foods, 32,5% of patients recognized that they had to eat calcium, 60,8% of patients recognized that they had to more eat fruits and vegetables, 39,2% of patients recognized that they had to eat limitedly salt. The knowledge about drinking regime: 67,1% of patients were aware of the correct amount of drinking water during the day, 71,3% patients were rightly aware that the water should be used was boile, 50,4% of patients were properly aware of the use of solid tea and coffee. A number of factors affecting the knowledge of patients: occupational, education level and has been health education.
Conclusion: patient’s knowledge about diet of urinary stones patient is low.
