Abstract
Objective: To describe the reality of using inhaler device among outpatients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at Nam Dinh General Hospital in 2020.
Method: A cross-sectional description was conducted on 60 patients who have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. They were interviewed about the practice of using an inhaler at Nam Dinh General Hospital from January to May 2020. Using the questionnaire interview method to collect personal information, observe and evaluate the practice of patients with a checklist of using inhale.
Results: The practice of using inhaler: the fail was 86,7% patients and the pass was 13,3% patients. In particular, step 3 was exhaling slowly: 60% patients performed correctly, step 6 was holding the breath in 10 seconds and then exhale through the mouth or nose: only 15% patients performed correctly, step 9 was mouthwash after inhalation drugs: 51,7% patients performed correctly.
Conclusion: Most patients use inhaler dosing with a low level.
