Abstract

Objective: To assess knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding thyroid cancer prevention and early detection and to identify associated factors among women in the community.

Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted among 600 women aged ≥ 18 years in Nam Dinh province in 2025. Data were collected using a structured self-administered questionnaire assessing KAP. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, comparative tests, and post hoc analysis with a significance level of p < 0.05.

Results: Statistically significant differences in knowledge, attitudes, and practices were observed across educational levels, occupational groups, and sources of information (p < 0.05). Post hoc analyses revealed that these differences were most pronounced across educational strata, particularly between illiterate participants and those with at least lower secondary education (p < 0.001). Furthermore, variations in KAP were also evident across different occupations and information sources (p < 0.05).

Conclusion: Appropriate health education programs are needed to improve awareness and promote preventive behaviors.
