Abstract
Objectives: (1). Assessment of patient’s needs for nursing care and nursing response to care needs in the In-ward and Outpatient Department of Thai Nguyen Hospital. (2). Awareness and ability to perform the tasks of nursing home affairs in the internal and external hospitals of Thai Nguyen Hospital.
Subjects and methods: The study was conducted from January 2018 to August 2015 in Thai Nguyen Hospital. Research subjects are inpatient, nursing; chief nurse and chief physician. Cross-sectional descriptive design, incorporating quantitative and qualitative research.
Results: 86.5% to 91.4% of patients with mental health needs; 56.1% to 62.6% of patients need personal hygiene support; 94.0% to 97.9% of patients want to change to hospital clothes and change bed sheets; 48.3% to 74.5% of patients have the need to be supported to turn, to exercise, rehabilitation training. However, the rate of responding to the needs of the patients remains at different levels, namely: 77.1% to 87.3% of patients are provided with mental care needs; 81.3% to 91.2% of patients were supported on personal hygiene; 67.9% to 67.7% of patients were changed bed sheets and change of hospital clothes; 92.5% of patients were supported for mobility and 45.7% of patients were provided with rehabilitation training.
Conclusion: It is necessary to improve the quality of nursing care for patients
