Abstract
Objective: To describe the current knowledge and practice of lifestyle among out-patients with hypertension managed at Quang Tri Provincial General Hospital in 2019.
Method: A cross-sectional survey was conducted from March to May of the year 2019 with the participation of 107 hypertensive patients. The Vietnam national STEPS questionnaire was used for data collecting.
Results: Among 107 patients, the male patients accounted for 55.1%. The percentage of patients who had right knowledge of lifestyle regarding hypertension control was 67.3%; The percentage of patients who had their physical activities appropriate for hypertension control was 49.5%, the percentage of patients who had their resting regimen appropriate for hypertension control was 35.5%.
Conclusion: The knowledge and practice of lifestyle regarding hypertension control of hypertensive outpatients participated the study were limited. The study results show a necessary of patient education.
